St. Johns Intermediate First Aid CPR & AED

Designed to comply with the CSA Z1210-17 Standard.
This course meets Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and Workplace First Aid (WFA) standards but is not recognized by CNESST in the province of Québec.
Intended for
Standard First Aid Level C is for individuals requiring comprehensive information on First Aid and CPR for their workplace, school, or personal interest. This two-day course covers all the skills in Emergency First Aid and Standard (CSA INTERMEDIATE) First Aid CPR A plus Level C CPR training and certification (Adult, Child, Infant, and 2-rescuer resuscitation) and AED training and certification.
Upon Completion
Students will be required to participate in Skills Assessments, as well as have the ability to perform CPR for minimum 2-minute timeframe, as well as pass a written exam with a passing grade 70%. A Certificate of Completion will be given in the form of a wallet card and wall certificate valid for 3 years.
Course Content
- Emergency scene management
- Recognition & treatment for shock/unconsciousness
- Recognition of & treatment for choking (adult, child and infant)
- Recognize and treat a non-breathing casualty (adult, child and infant)
- Treatment for severe bleeding
- Recognize & treat medical conditions
- Management of head/spinal injuries
- Treatment for burns
- Bone and joint injuries – treatment for fractures
- First aid for environmental emergencies
- One and Two person rescuer C.P.R. level “C” certification (adult, child and infant) and AED
- Mental health first aid
- Opioid overdose awareness
- Multiple Casualty Management
Students will be required to participate in physical activity including bending and kneeling comfortable clothing is encouraged to accommodate activities.
Students must be on time and present for all course content instruction. Students who miss any course content cannot be certified and registration fees will not be reimbursed, as per the Cancellation Policy
